 The Delta-Schoolcraft Great Start Collaborative (DSGSC) is a partnership of community leaders, business owners, charitable and faith-based organizations, health and human service agencies, educators and parents.
The Collaborative is committed to establishing and maintaining a network of supports and services that will address all factors that influence a child's readiness for school and life.
The goal of the Great Start system is for all Michigan children to enter kindergarten safe, healthy, and eager to succeed in school and in life.
Our Collaborative is currently in implementation phase. This means that we are moving forward with the goals and objectives of our Strategic Plan. Initially, we conducted a Community Assessment based on local and state data. After our assessment we met as a group to identify the needs in our two county area. Although our two counties are very different in population and geographic size, we share many of the same needs.
